THE HISTORY OF BALIKESIRSPOR FOOTBALL CLUB

The relationship between Balikesir and Bandirma( town) has always been fractious due to a sweet friction of City and Town.This sweet  friction has also been observed on the football pitch.Of course,another reason for  this friction was Bandirma’s earlier attempt to use the chance of establishing a Football Club in 2.League.

These two tensed conflicting brothers raised their tension on football pitch.As a result,conflicting or not these two teams are always brother…

In April-1965, an article,signed by (deceased) the President Of Turkish Football Federation Mr.Orhan Şeref APAK,comes to the Balikesir Regional Administry of  Physical Education.In this article, it is declared that a Professional football team for Turkish 2.Professional Football League can be founded in Balikesir.Due to this article,Mr.Selman DOĞUŞKAN (deceased),the Administer of Balikesir Physical Education Administry of that time,calls all the representatives of the club and informs them all about the article.All those representatives of that time declare that it is not easy to afford a Professional Football Club.For this reason,they decide to found this club in a better time in future and they reply this article declaring their decision.

Meanwhile.Bandirma Town applies to Turkish Football  Federation by the help of the Senator Mr.Fenni İSLİMYELİ.According to this application,Bandirma was accepted to the Turkish Professional 2.League in the season 1965-1966.Bandirma Spor FC( our town team) plays all its matches in Ataturk Stadium in Balikesir city center.After about one year, an entrepreneur committee was constitued to found Balikesirspor Football Club in a meeting in Balikesir City Club.However,their application was refused due to an already existance of a Professional Football team in Balikesir city(Bandirmaspor FC.).Sebahattin ERDİNİZ (deceased) , an exceptional football player of Balikesir,asks for  the help of his teammates with whom he played in National Military Football team and his efforts results with a permission for city club to found a Professional Football Team.All the members of the federation and the president (deceased) Mr.Orhan Şeref APAK were welcomed very well.Mr.APAK declared to the public that it was too late for 1966-1967 season for Balikesirspor FC,therefore,everything would be ready for next season(1967-1968 season).

STARTED WITH A DISPLACEMENT WIN

As a result of the draw drawn by Turkish Football Federation,we were going to play our first game with Malatyaspor FC. İn Malatya City.All the preparations done,and 4-5 coaches moved to Malatya.Balikesirspor FC won that with match with a dominant result,3-1.This happiness and success attack had been brought to Balikesir at that time.All the Balikesir city citizens from kids to oldies met the team at Degirmen Bogazi which is the entrance of the city.All the streets of Balikesir had been toured as convoys accompanied by drums and musical instrument that night.After Malatya triumph,lots of ladies used to come to stadium to watch and support Balikesirspor…

Stadium used to be full of more curious sports fans than today.Also lots of auidence used to come from towns.Therefore lots of supporters used to come to displacement games which are not so far away.They used to come those games even by their private autos,hired coaches or traines.To sum up,they used to support their team whereever it is possible.Players used to get special prims,gifts and etc.Balikesirspor used to have very high qualified players.That storm of excitement had been for 8-10 years in the city.That interest,love and the passion of Balikesirspor…The richest men of the city became either President or a member of administry.The soul of unity and togetherness was dominant everywhere and on everyone.

MONEY DONATION CAMPAIGN

After getting neccessary permissions,Balikesirspor FC delegates started a Money collection campaign in Balikesir.They started with a ceremony including a formal tour in city and called on most of artisans,bussinessmen,industrial establishments and etc. Most of cinemas and cafes donated their weekly incomes to Balikesirspor and in a short time those delegates reached 1,000,000TL donation.Sırrı YIRCALI was one of patriots in that donation campaign.You can hardly face such a big donation in Balikesir’s history.That was a great success and as a result of this success,Balikesirspor transfered 3 good soccer players from İstanbul and assigned Şükrü ERSOY as coach who had just come from Austria.

HE IS A HERO

Fuat SEYREKOĞLU,the son of bus driver Pomak Mustafa, never let play football by his family,however he had that passion against football since his childhood.

He was born in 1947,played in national tean with many well-known soccer players such as  Mustafa Denizli-Altayspor FC , Cemil Turan-Fenerbahçe FC,Ender Konca-Eskişehirspor FC, Zekeriya Gökalp-Beşiktaş FC, Yasin  Özdenak-Goal-keeper from Fenerbahçe FC, Yavuz Şimşek- Goal-keeper from Fenerbahçe FC.He was the Captain of the team.

BALIKESIRSPOR FC WITH HIS WORDS

We shoul not forget Captain Coşkun.He had been transfered from Beşiktaş FC.We used to run to the football pitch like crazy flashes when we heard supporters amazing ‘’BALKES-BALKES’’ yells.The surface of the pitch was very bad.We used to have lots of injuries there.But we were very eager always.Supports,yells were great.Great days were they…

ONLY 2 RED CARDS DURING HIS FOOTBALL LIFE

Captain Fuat used to be known with his kindness.He was never tempered.He concludes those two red cards with his words;

‘’Referee had a decision,I objected that decision and the referee ‘Yalçın DARICI’ said that he would send me out,I said ‘’ send me out if you can’’.What I saw was that’yes,he could’’J.The other red card was because of my childish fault again.I saw an argument and tried to intervene,Therefore,one of players was in fault.I couldn’t hepl myself  slapping him.

A BRAVE IS CALLED WITH HIS NAME

Loved by everyone and called as ‘’ Bear’’ which was his nickname given him because of his hard-soft playing style.Ihsan ÖZBEK.Once he was about to be transfered to Bursaspor FC,but grabbed by Balikesirspor.He was blonde,serious looking but a great good man.

COMPLAINING ABOUT DISLOYALTY

Blonde Ihsan,Buldozer Ihsan or Bear Ihsan called by his friends is complaining about disloyalty these days.He say sif people aren’t going to remember us,whom are they going to remember?He never forgets that match with Boluspor FC.He says he played with an injured head at that match.

WHO ARE IN THE FIRST CADRE

WHOSE IS THIS ONE OF THE BEST LOGO IDEA OF TURKISH FOOTBALL LEAUGES?

Yediveren ERDOĞAN gave the first outline to the logo of Balikesirspor.He had a good drawing talent.However,Mr.ÇİLEN(Pomak Orhan)-deceased, made some small changes on it in 1966-1967.As a result,one of the best logos of the Turkish Leagues had its last shape.The letters B and S illustrating a soccer player on white and red colors.

A QUESTIONARY FOR THE COLORS OF SPORTSGEAR-UNIFORM

To be able to decide the colors of the sportsgear,a questionary was held in city.The result was very suprising. Purple-Whites.One of those days amigo,Hikmet AKKAŞ says; what a strange result,we had better decide Red_White.They all agree and decide to declare that the results of questionary was in that way.RED_WHITE…

AT LAST  BAL-KES IS CHAMPION

Balikesirpor FC had lots of years in unsolved problems with its cadre.One year very young players,another year good cadre but bad economical situation and etc.For such reasons Balikesirspor couldn’t reached its goal until the season 1974-1975.The coach Mr.Rıdvan KÖSEMİHAL declared that he believed in young players and was not going to make great changes on team.Our loyal supporters were in disappointment 

         THE FIRST EXCITEMENT AND THE FIRST DONATION

         As we mentioned before,Balikesirspor FC was established against lots of difficulties and under very hard conditions.Frictions with Bandirmaspor FC which is a town team and earlier in Professional Football League than city center,financial problems and etc.However,in spite of all those negative cases,Balikesir city could establish its Professional Football Team.A big Donation Campaign was held in city.Lots of excited supporters from all areas managed this.It was an amazing excitement for Balikesirians…

         MANY BIG AND AMAZING RESULTS ARE POSSIBLE FOR THIS YEAR

         When we look to the past of Balikesirspor FC,today we can easily say that nothing is impossible for Balikesirspor.Playing in the third Professional league is not something that Balikesirspor FC deserves.We are sure that many big and amazing results,successes are possible fort his year again and we are sure Balikesirspor is going to play in 2nd Professional Football League next season.
